Toronto’s foodie community can be spotted walking the strip of Ossington Avenue, hopping in and out of the trendiest restaurants and bars enjoying some of the best culinary experiences in the city. Hungry Amoo, which can be translated to “hungry uncle”, opened in October 2016 as a snack bar, ” in a strip of similar alcohol-centric, sharing-heavy restaurant”, as described by BlogTO. After a few months of being open, Ossington diners provided owner and Chef Houman Pourmarz with some feedback; ” we would like to eat dinner here, not just snacks.” In January Hungry Amoo launched a new menu that offers popular Middle Eastern cuisine but with modern twists to the dishes and presentation.
